Home Energy Scotland
Grant + interest-free loan combined — up to £24,500 of support for heat pumps and integrated packages. Solar PV alone is loan-only (up to £6,000). Rural postcode uplift of £1,500 on grants where applicable.
ECO4 — final year
ECO4 runs to 31 March 2026. Successor scheme ECO5 is in consultation but final rules unconfirmed at time of writing. If you qualify for ECO4, applying now ahead of the window close is wise.
Commercial — capital allowances
50% first-year allowance for "special rate" plant continues — applies to solar PV, battery storage and EV charge points. Combined with falling kit prices, commercial solar IRRs of 15-22% are routine.
Octopus Flux and time-of-use tariffs
Octopus Flux remains the gold-standard battery-economy tariff (peak export 24p/kWh). Other suppliers (E.ON Next, OVO) have begun rolling out competing dynamic tariffs. The economics of battery storage have fundamentally improved over the past 18 months.
EV — OZEV grant routes
OZEV chargepoint grant continues for renters, flat-owners and landlords (£350 off install). Workplace Charging Scheme £350/socket × 40 sockets. Public-charging infrastructure funded separately via LEVI.
