SP Distribution is the formal sub-licence area within SP Energy Networks covering Central and South Scotland. For practical purposes, residential and small commercial customers can treat this as SP Energy Networks — the same portal, same forms, same engineering team.
G98 vs G99 — which applies?
- G98 (notification only): Single inverter ≤ 16A per phase (~3.68kW single-phase). Notify within 28 days of commissioning — no pre-approval needed.
- G99 (pre-approval): Anything larger. Connection offer issued first, then install, then commissioning. Same as SP Energy Networks — 6-12 weeks typical.
